Blush Bridal - Vera Wang - Sweet Pea Photography

Blush Bridal has always been synonymous for high end, beautiful wedding gowns in Vancouver.  They recently went through several BIG changes... a brand new owner, Monti Samuel and a fabulous new location in Yaletown!  With Vera Wang's stunning new gowns in town for a trunk show, it was the perfect opportunity to showcase them against the background of the store's new location in the dynamic neighbourhood of Yaletown.

The gowns were incredible and it was such fun to photograph them with our amazing models, Crystal and Alison of John Casablancas International Model Management.  The always lovely and talented Denise Elliott worked her magic on our models and brought our vision to life.

Mandy and Karl Alzner Vancouver Convention Centre Wedding

When I met Mandy and Karl last summer for their engagement shoot, I knew it the wedding was going to be fun and fabulous..., just like the two of them. But, little did I know just how FABULOUS it would be! Turns out it was fabulous enough to be featured on the WedLuxe blog! Mandy and Karl have to be two of the kindest, warmest people I have had the pleasure of photographing. Their vision for a rustic, yet elegant wedding was brought to life by the amazing Alicia Keats who worked with Mandy and Karl for over two years to help make it happen! The incredible Vancouver Convention Centre provided the perfect setting for the "glam-organic" nuptials. With gorgeous decor by Colin Upright of Upright Decor, stunning florals by Hilary Miles, beautiful make up by Hayley Miller and hair by Emily Cheng, this couple and this wedding was a dream to photograph...

Congratulations, Mandy and Karl! It was such a pleasure spending time with you... I wish you both many happy years together!

Sue and Steve's Vancouver Sutton Place Hotel Wedding ~ Sweet Pea Photography

I was thrilled to see Sue and Steve's beautiful wedding from May this year featured on the WedLuxe Magazine blog today... they are such a wonderful couple and their wedding was a day to remember!  Although the weather was less than cooperative, everyone's spirits were high for our pre-wedding shoot on location in downtown Vancouver.  Sue was a perfect example of a bride who would not let a little bit of rain ruin her day!  I always reassure my wedding couples and let them know it is never a disaster when it rains on the wedding day, it just makes things a bit more of a challenge to keep the dress clean and dry.  As a wedding photographer in Vancouver, let's just say I have a bit of experience shooting weddings in the rain... and as a result, a handful of locations that fit my criteria... under cover, but open to great natural light.  Sue and Steve chose well as their wedding party helped make the day extra fun! And their choice of the Sutton Place Hotel as the location for both the ceremony and reception was a good one as well.  The warmth and elegance of Sutton Place lent itself beautifully to their wedding and provided the backdrop for more stunning photos... I couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding to photograph.  With flowers by Suzanne of Granville Island Florist, decor by Colin of Upright Decor, cake by Peter of Ganache Patisserie, the bride's Lazaro gown from Bisou Bridal and jewels by Elsa Corsi, it was a feast for the eyes as well as my camera!

Congratulations, Sue and Steve!  You two were such a pleasure to work with and I love that you chose me to document your beautiful wedding day.

I wish you both a lifetime of love, laughter, health and happiness!

Blush Bridal Haute Couture Show - Creme de la Creme - Sweet Pea Photography

This year's Creme de la Creme Grand Wedding Showcase took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver on Sunday, November 6, 2011 and it was a huge success!  Congratulations to Soha Lavin of CountDown Events on producing this exceptional wedding show... One of the highlights of the Showcase every year is the Haute Couture Fashion Show... I was honoured to photograph this beautiful event for Lorna Paterson of Blush Bridal & Special Occasions.  Many of my Sweet Pea brides are also Blush brides and I was thrilled to see the latest in wedding gown creations by designers such as Vera Wang, Romona Keveza, Ines Di Santo, Rivini, Kenneth Pool, Amsale and Christos.  It was an absolute feast for my eyes and my camera to photograph the show!  I look forward to hopefully photographing many of my brides wearing these incredible gowns...

Michael Buble Vancouver Wedding Reception - Lori Miles

I was incredibly honoured and proud to photograph the Vancouver Wedding Reception on Friday night for Michael Buble and his gorgeous new wife, Luisana Lopilato.  The newlyweds are adorable together and clearly very much in love...

Michael's parents, Lewis and Amber Buble hosted 500 of their close family and friends in the Crystal Ballroom at the Pan Pacific and it truly was a party to remember!

The entire event was masterfully planned and executed by the talented and hard working Pat Rekert of In Any Event Design.  The Ballroom was literally transformed... in fact, I heard someone refer to it as stunningly elegant version of Heaven's waiting room!  This was all a result of the genius of Sandy Godfree of Art of the Party.  Also working with Sandy on the florals to accent the decor was the artistic Suzanne of Granville Island Florists.  It was amazing to work alongside this Dream Team of very talented women to photograph their work and document the evening.  The guests were treated to an memorable evening they won't soon forget.

Congratulations, Michael and Luisana!  And thank you for having me be a part of your incredible wedding celebration here in Vancouver.  I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness...

WedLuxe magazine ~ inspiration...

Decisions, decisions... when photographing weddings, I often find myself wishing I could get married all over again!  Although I wouldn't change my choice in groom (still very happy with that one!) the fashions have changed a great deal over the years and I envy today's brides for all the unique and beautiful options they have.  I'm sure it can be overwhelming to have so many choices, but it always helps when the bridal blogs provide gorgeous images to inspire brides on all the beautiful flowers, shoes and gowns available for their wedding day. WedLuxe magazine has been featuring some wonderful eye candy recently, which you should head on over and check out!  In fact, a few of the images have been from past Sweet Pea Photography weddings...
