I also have a photography blog which does not require Flash, although it is nicer if you have it...
When I was young, I often wondered what I would be when I grew up... what I would do and who I would love. My Mom tells me that ever since she can remember, I had a camera in my hand. Never in a million years would I have dreamt of being a photographer.
My photography really began when I met my husband many years ago. I picked up his camera, started using it and never gave it back. Photography went from a hobby to a successful career about 10 years ago when I quit my day job and chose to pursue it full time. Over the past decade, I have been documenting weddings and families and loving every minute of it. Every person I photograph, whether they are an expectant mom or a bride or a baby, each one is unique and beautiful. For me, the process of capturing each person's uniqueness is both intimate and inspiring.
As a photogapher, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to meet new people and get to know them through my camera. I am inspired by people and the intricate relationships between them. As an emotional person myself, I find myself drawn to the deep and meaningful moments. One of the things I love about photography is the opportunity to observe and document and look for those genuine moments. I love to create images that make people feel something. To take a photograph and tell a story, to capture a moment and have people relate to it and have it touch them in some way is an amazing feeling and keeps me doing what I do every day.
My husband and my daughter inspire me on a regular basis. I really enjoy photographing the people I love and the places I go. Although I'm sure it drives them crazy how I can't go a day without picking up my camera, they've learned to be patient with me. Fortunately, my photography has given us the opportunity to travel together as a family and see places we never would have seen. Having the two people who mean the most to me by my side is what I love more than anything.
Few people in life get to do what they love. As a photographer, I really do have the best job in the world. To be a visual storyteller and go through life photographing what moves me is a joy. I aspire to continue to do just that, photographing with my heart as well as my eye.
